Was thinking about this earlier, and discussing it a bit in one of the in game war channels, and I figured i'd toss it out here and see what you guys thought about it as well...

So for the past 3 xpacks, our BP click has been a hate proc that triggers when we swing. Similar to the way an aggro poison works, minus the DD component, etc. Personally, I feel its COMPLETELY useless . . . I literally never use it. Aggro is quite easy to gain, and maintain, both in group and raid content (especially in raid content) . . . . with the addition of undivided attention, ageless enmity on a fast reuse, projection on a fast reuse, warlords fury adding a monster bonus to said abilities . . . not to mention the other short reuse AAs and discs . . . theres too much to list, and using it all in game on a given mob is frankly overkill.

That being said, I still have my SoD BP, because THAT click, in certain situations, is INCREDIBLY useful (the hate-proc-when-struck buff with 60 or whatever charges). Then I look at underfoot shawl (the rune one), and think, that was a pretty good idea . . . doesnt generate hate obviously, but still a randomized mitigation source.

So what if our current BP click were a combo of the two? A proc-when-struck, charged buff, rune proc of some sort? Could be a vie (percent-based mitigation up to a certain amount of damage like the cleric spells, not to be confused w/ coa bp which is a duration vie) or, even better, a rune-line proc, that COMPLETELY mitigates an incoming hit when its active (similar to the short buff you get when you use shield topple) .. say 60 charges, fires at random when struck, until it expires, completely absorbing one incoming melee or spell hit? Would be too much to ask, i think, if it were to generate AE aggro as some runes do, but never know, paladin CoA BP is pretty badass in that regard (heal proc when struck, monster AE aggro)... But if you think about it . . . shield block basically does nothing (see parses . . it really doesnt do much) . . . this could possibly compensate for that for a set duration (which charges remain on the buff)

Thoughts?

We have a ton of warriors (10 in raids last night).'
They all get in war chat and talk the talk. However, not all are able to walk the walk if you catch my drift. Basically half are what I consider the "A Squad", while half are "the bench". The A Squad can hold aggro and tank all day (I didn't notice I had atk off for 50% of the Sarith raid-yes I was MT, yes I hate mobs that morph into a new instance of themselves when active, so auto atk fails, NO I DID NOT LOSE AGGRO).

The bench however will send me tells asking to be put as MT on stuff, and sometimes I allow it to prove a point. They cannot hold aggro for shit and the DPS dies. I have gone over my strats in war chat channel, I have sent tells, I have posted threads on exactly WTF to do, but they just cannot either hit the right buttons, or grasp the concept that aggro is their #1 concern. Aggro and survivabilty, everything else is tertiary (sp?).

So how can I motivate these guys to elevate their game? Any ideas? I am sick of constantly being told to "fix" tanks that even though properly geared, cannot hold their aggro. Please, I am desperate. (deguilding them is not an option-I can be mean, but not that mean :p )

Thanks!

Freelance on the Cazic Thule server is currently recruiting ALL CLASSES!

Brief Overview

Freelance is an open raiding team. It's strictly based on a pure and true open raid concept. There is no single guild associated and/or affiliated or in an alliance with Freelance. Our entire team consists of like minded players which come together to experience content and help others share in that experience. We've built our numbers over time, through word of mouth; advertising on forums, and other in game zone wide methods.

All players are welcome to attend Freelance raids. Prior raid experience is not required. We welcome both newcomers to the raid scene, as well as seasoned players. Newcomers benefit from our raids not just from character advancement, but also from exposure to raiding in general. Seasoned players in the mix, allows for class experience and tricks of the trade to be passed down the line. It's good overall, and good for the game.

Raid Atmosphere

Freelance is a friendly, low stress raiding environment. We're accustomed to working with both experienced and inexperienced raiders alike. There's no intimidation factor on our raids. Raids are NOT led by iron fist dictatorship, there is no talking down to others, nor drama of any kind.

We're dedicated to helping others of all play styles, backgrounds and experience. We continuously seek to improve our performance at both the raid and class level through the sharing of knowledge openly and constructively. These efforts make us stronger as a team overall. If/when mistakes happen during events, we as a team understand and we work collectively to identify the causes in order to implement solutions, we do not play the blame game. This concept of understanding is a focal point which fosters goodwill and strengthens our bond as a team.

Raid Schedule & Related Details

Suggested Minimum Level: 92 or above.

Days: Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Start times: 8:00 PM EST, 7:00 PM CST, 5:00 PM PST

Duration: Approximately 2 - 3 hours respectively. No commitment required to stay the duration.

There are no mandatory attendance requirements.

Our raids are posted in advance on our forums with related details.

All strategy related to upcoming events are public and available on our forums in the related Strategy section.

DKP System & Item Distribution

DISTRIBUTION PROCESS:

Freelance uses both DKP and Random 1000 to distribute items. All items are associated with a category, and each category tied to a ruleset; which is used for item distribution.

AUG, RUNE and N/A category items are distributed via Random 1000 ruleset.

LOOT category items are auctioned off in 3 rounds of open /raidsay bidding, starting at 10 DKP. Minimum bid increments of 5 DKP at a time. A player cannot bid beyond their Current DKP holdings. Following no bids, an OPEN tag is associated and the Random 1000 ruleset is used.

Each "Real Life" person is allowed to participate, winning one AUG, LOOT, RUNE, and N/A item per night. OPEN items still count as your item in that category for the night, and are available to anyone, including prior winners.

DKP EARNINGS:

DKP points are earned based on the total value of all items distributed, divided by the total number of attendees, on a per event/target basis. Basically that means, for each target, all DKP spent, is split among all those who attended for that target. The more we spend, the more we earn.
